The Iain Thomson Trio

Iain says :
"As I pursued my dream of being a shepherd I met shepherds, farmers and gamekeepers of old. Men who played and sung of the land they worked. I still live that life and believe that it is dying out. My song writing and music and the inspiration for it come from the land I work and the people I meet. My music is part of me and my lifestyle."

Along with Iain the trio includes Gregor Lowrey, one of the best known accordion players in Scotland today who's sensitive and dynamic playing bring a depth and emotion seldom heard from "the box" and Marc Duff formerly of Capercaillie and one of the most gifted musicians in trad. music.

Together the trio weave music of great beauty. depth and power around Iain's rich clear voice and evocative imagery of his songs.
